COVID 19: A Threat To The Music Industry And Livelihoods - PMAN

Image
The entire world is passing through a very turbulent and challenging time at this moment since the discovery of COVID 19. It is a truism that about 2/3 of humanity are under total lockdown due to medical advice of maintaining social distancing as one of the panaceas for winning this global war against Coronavirus. We here in Nigeria and indeed Plateau State are no exception to the difficulties being faced owing to the rising case of this global pandemic. One of the effects of this global disturbance is the rising challenge of hunger and the total shut down of the economy as well as the music performing entertainment industry. The leadership of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria PMAN Plateau State  Chapter wish to sympathize with her members at this difficult time as most entertainment events and shows have been crippled and currently on her knees. As a result, many means of livelihood have been affected and the continued existence of the entertainment industry threaten

Relaxation Of Lockdown And Its Consequences

It is no longer news that the president has said he is reviewing the total lockdown on the Nigerian state but permit me to say expressly, he is ill-advised. In the wake of COVID 19, the president has addressed the nation 3 times, On the first address, there were 111 cases and one death and he locked down 3 states. On the second address, there were 343 cases and 10 deaths, he said 'COVID 19 is not a joke but a matter of life and death' and still maintained the lockdown. In his last address, we had 1273 cases and 40 deaths, the president decided to ease the lockdown. The decision to relax the lockdown clearly may be as a result of pressure from the masses on hunger and poor compliance on lockdown order. The government appears overwhelmed and has decided to leave everyone to his fate. Let me tell you what will happen... Businesses will resume in full swing Social distancing advise will be jettisoned Level of contraction and infection will  multiply Our hospitals and

I Support Total Lockdown Of Plateau State

Kano people said COVID 19 is a hoax and refused to take stringent measures. Despite the governor of Bauchi state being infected with COVID 19, Bauchi refused to close its border but allowed free movement and trading. Now, the results of these decisions are glaring Those against the closing down of Plateau borders and lockdown should be marked as adversaries of Plateau people. Plateau State and indeed the Nigerian state is in dearth of manpower and medical facilities to tackle Coronavirus explosion. Experts have said about 45million Nigerians might die of this dreaded disease if Nigeria does not confront it with every seriousness. Stay Home, Stay Safe. My Stand.
