COVID 19: A Threat To The Music Industry And Livelihoods - PMAN
The entire world is passing through a very turbulent and challenging time at this moment since the discovery of COVID 19.
It is a truism that about 2/3 of humanity are under total lockdown due to medical advice of maintaining social distancing as one of the panaceas for winning this global war against Coronavirus.
We here in Nigeria and indeed Plateau State are no exception to the difficulties being faced owing to the rising case of this global pandemic.
One of the effects of this global disturbance is the rising challenge of hunger and the total shut down of the economy as well as the music performing entertainment industry.
The leadership of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria PMAN Plateau State Chapter wish to sympathize with her members at this difficult time as most entertainment events and shows have been crippled and currently on her knees. As a result, many means of livelihood have been affected and the continued existence of the entertainment industry threatened.
PMAN Plateau State chapter wish to reassure her members that certainly "there will be light at the end of the tunnel". And "when the night is darkest, morning is near"
This is an unfortunate narrative in the life of the members of our union but we have the assurance that we shall come out strong in due time.
I encourage all our members to continue to cooperate with the government in this very tough times.
Let's continue to maintain social distancing.
Stay home, stay safe.
Comrade Victor Daniel
PMAN Governor
Plateau State Chapter.
