"After COVID 19: What Next?" A Prepostrous Untimely Question.

A blitz of colloquy are already resonating about " Post COVID: 19 What Next?" Those whose fantasy is already striding along that slant are not only inflated myoclonics but are people with convulsive syncopic cerebral hypoxia.

The WHO has broached that coronavirus is far from over, and we here in Nigeria are already babbling about what next?

These hysterics are living in dreamland as we can only be talking about what next when the end is in sight with explicit and purposeful projectile.

Nigeria is still passing through her dark days with legendary monumental rising curve of positive cases, already overstretched medical facilities, colossal abscondment of medical personnel due to the absence of PPE, difficulties in contacts tracing, abscission and evanescence of positive cases from isolation centres, slow paste of testing, inadequate testing centres and delay in the arrival of results.

We should be talking about strict enforcement of interstate travels ban, social distancing enforcement, accession of PPE, increased medical capacities, supporting the impoverished and susceptible amongst us and if need be, total lockdown of the country.

These should form the fulcrum of social dialogue in the country at the moment to avert the looming peril that may result from the colossal loss of lives if this menace is not nipped in the bud and not some fruitless economic conversation that hasn't done us any good since the advent of the oil boom some 63 years ago.

My thoughts.
