COVID-19 LOCKDOWN IN PLATEAU STATE: A REMINDER. In view of the Executive order issued by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Simon Bako Lalong, KSG, Executive Governor of Plateau State, I wish to remind the citizens of the state as follows: 1.  That the lockdown which is now a standing order, begins a second past 12.00 midnight of Sunday 31st May, 2020 till 12.00 midnight of Wednesday 3rd June, 2020. 2.  That the curfew imposed on the nation by the President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, between the hours of 8.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m., is still in force and should be adhered to. 3.  That All passes earlier issued by the State government are no longer valid from the 1st of June, 2020. New passes will be issued by the relevant issuing authority as earlier announced. 4.  That the wearing of face masks is mandatory  and defaulters are liable to a fine of not less than N1,000.00 only, when caught. 5

The Inspector General Police (IG) Monitoring Unit has arrested popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky. He was nabbed Thursday morning in Lekki, Lagos State. O k uneye was arrested by a team of policemen from Abuja over alleged disagreement with a woman over a yet to be disclosed transaction involving N30m. The police trailed Bobrisky and stopped the white Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) he was driving. Peter Okoye of the defunct P-square has disclosed the actual reason he left his brother and former manager, Jude Okoye. Nigeria female singer, Cynthia Morgan had taken to her Instagram story on Saturday narrating how she lost her music career to Jude Okoye due to the contract she signed. Morgan, though admitted not reading the contract terms, said her career slipped after she lost her stage name, Instagram account, royalty and VEVO account due to the contract she signed with Jude Okoye. Reacting, Peter Okoye on his Twitter page reminded Morgan of how she rejected the contract he gave her, after his brothers portrayed him as the evil one. Peter, further revealed that he left P-square, cut off the relationship with his elder brother and twin brother 3 years ago because he wanted his freedom and not for fame or power as widely reported. Jude Okoye: Why I can never bring P-Square back together

Former manager of now-defunct duo P-Square, Jude Okoye, has said he will never try to bring his two brothers together again. Jude stated this during an Instagram Live chat with blogger, Tunde Ednut on Sunday. He also claimed that P-Square’s split, which happened in 2017, was instigated by Peter Okoye, who had issues with him. Jude, who revealed that he had stepped aside as manager up to five times, made it clear that he had tried everything humanly possible to settle the rift. “Peter has a problem with me. I have asked him several times what the problem is but he refused to say. How can I bring P-Square back when I’m the one they don’t want in the picture? “There is nothing humanly possible that someone can do that I haven’t done. I came to a point when I said even if it means sacrificing myself from the picture. No problem, let them both be. “Whether or not they come back should not be my business anymore. I was wanted out of the picture. I’m now out,” he said.

The former manager of the now-defunct P-Square, Jude Okoye, has responded to allegations of maltreatment made against him by singer Akinmayokun Awodumila, popularly known as May D. May D had in a series of tweets on Sunday revealed his ordeal under Jude Okoye who is also the elder brother to Paul and Peter, formerly known as Psquare. May D said he had no personal bank account despite releasing hit songs, adding that he was maltreated under Square records. The singer further claimed that he shared the boys quarter in the Okoye’s home with their cook and slept on cartons and was not given the credits for writing their ‘Invasion’ album. May D was reacting to a tweet where a fan had accused him of leaving Psquare in 2012 because he (May D) was being greedy But speaking in an Instagram Live chat with blogger Tunde Ednut on Sunday, Jude, said, “I treated him as a brother, gave him a platform, flew him across America, put him on a show with Akon, and gave him a home in my place. “

Burna Boy’s neighbours have reportedly called in the men of the Nigeria Police Force to arrest him for being noisy.   According to the video that has surfaced online, the neighbours claim that the music has been constituting a nuisance in the neighbourhood, insisting on his arrest and that of his father. They also alleged that Burna Boy has not made complete payment for the land he built his house in, as he is reportedly owing N100M. They claimed that Nigerian footballer, Odion Ighalo who also stays in the same neighbourhood has lived there without disturbing anyone. In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Plateau State and in furtherance of the Resolutions reached at the Plateau  State Security Council Meeting presided over by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Simon  Bako Lalong, Government wishes to intimate the citizens of the following decisions particularly as it relates to the forth coming Eid-el-Ftr Sallah celebrations: 1. That all Eid praying grounds across the State shall be closed to all worshippers. This is line with existing ban on all large public gatherings in tandem with the directive of  the President-General, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs His Eminence, Sultan Mohammed Abubakar that all muslims should suspend congregational Eid Prayers and pray at home. 2. Where prayers are observed in mosques, they should abide by the regulations for not more than 50 persons, hand washing, use of sanitizers and social distancing.  3. That operation of Tricycle ( Keke Napep) have been banned for Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th, May

Governor Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna state Almost two months into a lockdown order in Kaduna State, Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday dismissed the possibility of an early lifting of the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus. The state government had ordered a total lockdown of the state on March 26, 2020, which was extended by another 30 days on April 26, 2020. El-Rufai, while dismissing several appeals from various quarters to partially lift the lockdown to allow for Eid prayers on Sallah day; expected on Saturday or Sunday, said he would personally patrol the Kaduna-Kano borders to ensure that no one from Kano State tried to sneak into the state. “We plan to relax the curfew but the plan has no execution date because it will depend on our situation. PRESS RELEASE FROM OPERATIONS SAFE HAVEN ON THE UNFORTUNATE DEATH OF CIVILIAN ON 12 MAY 2020 Operation SAFE  HAVEN regrets the unfortunate death of a civilian by name Mr Rinji Peter Bala by its personnel. At about 10 pm on 12 May 2020, information was received on the activities of suspected armed robbers and cultists operating around No 18th Street, Jos South LGA of Plateau State. The report revealed that the criminals took advantage of the lockdown and curfew to perpetrate crimes. Consequently, Sector 1 patrol troops of OPSH swiftly responded and arrested 7 suspects, which were immediately moved to the Headquarters Sector 1 for preliminary investigation. Thereafter, 5 out of the 7 suspects were cleared and asked to leave the premises. Unfortunately, as they were leaving the premises, one of the personnel on sentry duty mistook them for escaping suspects.
